Pennsylvania oo qasab ka dhigaysa calaamadaynta xayeysiisyada AI-da lagu sameeyay
Sharciga waxaa saxeexay guddoomiyaha gobolka Josh Shapiro maalinta Khamiista, wuxuuna quseeyaa sawirro, fiidiyoow, cod iyo qoraal.
Guddoomiyaha gobolka Pennsylvania, Josh Shapiro, ayaa maalinta Khamiista saxeexay sharciga loo yaqaan Artificial Intelligence Deceptive Advertising Act, kaas oo qasab ka dhigaya in xayeysiisyada AI-da lagu beddelay ama lagu sameeyay ay xambaarsanaadaan calaamad cad. Pennsylvania waxay ka mid tahay gobollada ugu horreeya ee shuruud tan dhigta.
Waxa uu sharcigu quseeyo
Sharcigu wuxuu dhigayaa in xayeysiis kasta oo "has been significantly modified or generated by artificial intelligence" uu ku daro calaamad isla qaabka xayeysiiska laftiisa. Shuruuddu waxay quseysaa sawirro taagan, fiidiyoow, cod iyo qoraal. Waxay sidoo kale quseysaa xayeysiisyada telefishanka ee shirkadaha waaweyn iyo warqadaha yaryar ee makhaayadaha ku xayeysiiya qiimo-dhimista baalasha digaagga.
Calaamadda iyo goobta xayeysiiska
Sharcigu wuxuu qasab ka dhigayaa calaamadda iyada oo aan loo eegin halka xayeysiiska lagu sameeyay. Taas macneheedu waxa weeye in calaamaduhu ay ka muuqan karaan xayeysiisyada laga sii daayo gobollo kale haddii la filayo in sidoo kale laga sii daayo Pennsylvania.
Meelaha bannaan ee sharciga
Sharcigu wuxuu leeyahay meelo bannaan oo dhowr ah. Waxa uu ka reebay "parody, satire, commentary or criticism" iyo wax kasta oo "evidently fictional" ah, inkastoo aan caddayn waxa "evidently fictional" macneheedu yahay. Qoraalku wuxuu kaloo tilmaamayaa in kaliya waxa "uses synthetic content in a manner that creates a false consumer perception" uu u baahan yahay calaamad, taas oo su'aalo ka reebaysa waxa loo arko been iyo cidda go'aamisa. Xafiiska Senator Nick Pisciottano, oo soo bandhigay sharciga, isla markiiba ma jawaabin codsiga faallo.
Governor Josh Shapiro signed the Artificial Intelligence Deceptive Advertising Act, which covers images, video, audio and text but leaves several interpretive gaps.
Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro signed the Artificial Intelligence Deceptive Advertising Act into law on Thursday, requiring labels on ads that have been significantly modified or generated by artificial intelligence, according to The Verge.
What the Labeling Requirement Covers
The law requires any ad that "has been significantly modified or generated by artificial intelligence" to carry a label in the same format as the ad itself. The requirement applies to still images, video, audio and text ads, and reaches both TV commercials from multi-billion-dollar companies and restaurants' flyers about wing specials.
Scope Beyond Pennsylvania's Borders
Pennsylvania is one of the first states to require disclosures on AI content. Labels are required regardless of where an ad was created, so disclosures may appear in commercials in other states if those ads are also expected to air in Pennsylvania.
Loopholes and Unanswered Questions
The law leaves loopholes. What counts as "significantly modified" is subjective, and there is a carve-out for "parody, satire, commentary or criticism" as well as anything "evidently fictional." The wording also suggests only content that "uses synthetic content in a manner that creates a false consumer perception" about a product or service would require a disclosure, leaving open what qualifies as false and who decides. The office of State Senator Nick Pisciottano, who introduced the bill, did not immediately return a request for comment.
