Somali Government Reshuffles Cabinet in Major Shake-up
Muqdisho (Somalia) – The Somali Prime Minister, Cabdisalaan Cabdi Cali Dhaay, has reshuffled his cabinet in a major shake-up aimed at addressing security challenges and improving governance.
The reshuffle saw the dismissal of several cabinet ministers, including those responsible for security and intelligence. This comes after a recent wave of attacks in Mogadishu, which has raised concerns about the government’s ability to maintain security.
“The government’s priority is to address the security situation and restore public confidence,” Prime Minister Dhaay said.
The Prime Minister also announced plans to improve governance and combat corruption. He said that the government would be more transparent and accountable to the people.
The Somali government has been criticized in recent months for its handling of security and corruption. The country faces numerous challenges, including terrorism, poverty, and political instability.
“The government needs to do more to address these challenges,” said Xaliimo Yarey, a prominent civil society activist.
Somalia is undergoing a political transformation, with renewed hopes for improved governance and stability.
