Maamulka NASA waxay soo bandhigtay sawir muujinaya saddex maqal oo barwaaqo-soor ah oo isku dhacay Badda Waqooyiga Pacific-ka, halkaas oo mid ka mid ah uu gaaray heerka 5-aad ee barwaaqo-soorka. Tani waxay ku dhacday 1-ka September, iyadoo El Niño ay saameyn weyn ku yeelatay xaaladda barwaaqo-soorka sanadkan.
Saameynta El Niño ee Barwaaqo-soorka
Marka maamulka barwaaqo-soorka ay soo saareen warbixinta sanadlaha ah ee 2026, El Niño ayaa ku biiray in la filayo barwaaqo-soor yar oo Atlantic-ka ah, balse mid weyn oo Pacific-ka Waqooyiga ah. Tani waxay ku dhacday 3-ka September, iyadoo Pacific-ka Waqooyiga ah uu sameeyay 15 maqal oo barwaaqo-soor ah iyo 6 barwaaqo-soor, halka Atlantic-ka uu sameeyay kaliya 5 maqal oo barwaaqo-soor ah.
El Niño wuxuu u badan yahay inuu kordhiyo barwaaqo-soorka Pacific-ka Waqooyiga ah, sababtoo ah wuxuu keenaa cuntooyin cuntooyin cuntooyin cuntooyin cuntooyin cuntooyin cuntooyin cuntooyin cuntooyin cuntooyin cuntooyin cuntooyin cuntooyin cuntooyin cuntooyin cuntooyin cuntooyin cuntooyin cuntooyin cuntooyin cuntooyin cuntooyin cuntooyin cuntooyin cuntooyin cuntooyin cuntooyin cuntooyin cuntooyin cuntooyin cuntooyin cuntooyin cuntooyin cuntooyin cuntooyin cuntooyin cuntooyin cuntooyin cuntooyin cuntooyin cuntooyin cuntooyin cuntooyin cuntooyin cuntooyin cuntooyin cuntooyin cuntooyin cuntooyin c.
Saddexda Maqal ee Pacific-ka
Saddexda maqal ee Pacific-ka waxay ahaayeen Lowell, Karina, iyo Marie. Lowell wuxuu noqday midka ugu xoog badan, isagoo gaaray heerka 5-aad ee barwaaqo-soorka 2-ka September. Karina, oo ku jira meel ka fog, waxay gaartay heerka 4-aad, halka Marie ay ku jirtay heerka barwaaqo-soorka, balse ay ku sii kordhayso.
Saddexdan maqal waxay ku jiraan meelaha kala duwan ee Pacific-ka, iyadoo Lowell uu ku jiro meelaha waaweyn, Karina uu ku jiro meelaha waaweyn, halka Marie uu ku jiro meelaha waaweyn. Tani waxay ku dhacday 1-ka September, iyadoo NASA EPIC ay soo bandhigtay sawir muujinaya saddexdan maqal.
Barwaaqo-soorka Atlantic-ka
Atlantic-ka, maqalka barwaaqo-soorka Edouard wuxuu ku jiray Louisiana iyo Texas, iyadoo uu keenay barwaaqo-soor weyn oo barwaaqo-soor ah. Qaar ka mid ah meelaha waxay helaan 15 ilaa 24 calaan oo barwaaqo-soor ah, iyadoo maamulka barwaaqo-soorka ay sheegeen in barwaaqo-soorku uu aad u sarreeyay.
3-ka September, ACE-ka Atlantic-ka wuxuu ahaa 4.4, halka Pacific-ka Waqooyiga ah uu ahaa 130, iyadoo Pacific-ka Waqooyiga ah uu aad u sarreeyay. Tani waxay muujinaysaa in El Niño uu saameyn weyn ku yeeshay barwaaqo-soorka Pacific-ka Waqooyiga ah.
On September 1, NASA's EPIC camera aboard the DSCOVR satellite captured a rare sight: three tropical cyclones churning simultaneously in the Pacific Ocean, a phenomenon made possible by El Niño-driven above-normal activity in the basin.
El Niño Fuels Unusual Pacific Activity
Spring 2026 forecasts predicted a quiet Atlantic and a busy Pacific due to El Niño, which warms eastern and central Pacific waters to boost storm formation while suppressing Atlantic development through unfavorable wind shear conditions.
By September 3, the Northeast Pacific had produced 15 named storms and six hurricanes, far exceeding seasonal norms, while the Atlantic basin recorded just five named storms and zero hurricanes, with its ACE index at only 9 percent of normal.
Three Hurricanes Simultaneously in the Pacific
The trio captured by EPIC included Lowell, which reached Category 5 strength for several hours on September 2, and Karina, which achieved Category 4 strength thousands of kilometers to the east, marking a rare simultaneous occurrence of two major hurricanes.
Marie, spinning southwest of Baja California, was still a tropical storm at the time of the image but was strengthening as it moved northwest, while a band of clouds from the Intertropical Convergence Zone was visible to the south.
Edouard Hits the U.S. Gulf Coast
In the Atlantic, Tropical Storm Edouard made landfall over Louisiana and Texas, bringing torrential rains and strong winds that downed trees and power lines, with some areas receiving 15 to 24 inches of rain.
NASA Earth-observing platforms continue to provide critical data for emergency preparedness and damage assessment, allowing the public to track current hurricanes through the Worldview browser and access related data products.
