Uganda Warns Somalia: Prepare for Consequences of Intervention

The Ugandan government has warned Somalia that it will intervene militarily if the ongoing offensive against Al-Shabaab continues to threaten Ugandan citizens.

The warning came in a statement issued by the Ugandan government on Friday, following reports of heightened tensions between the two nations.

The statement reads: “The Ugandan government wishes to inform the Somali government that if any harm befalls Ugandan citizens or interests in Somalia, the Ugandan military will be compelled to take action.”

The warning comes after a recent escalation in tensions between the two nations, with Uganda accusing Somalia of failing to take sufficient action to address the threat of Al-Shabaab.

The Ugandan military has already begun deploying forces to the region.

The escalation in tensions between the two nations raises concerns about the stability of the entire region.
