    Somalia, Arab League discuss bilateral cooperation

    Hamsa Abdi Barre, the Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, met with Ambassador Abdullah Al Otaibi, Head of the Arab League Mission to Somalia, to discuss means to enhance joint cooperation, particularly in political and economic domains.

    According to the Somali National News Agency (SONNA), Prime Minister Barre noted that his government has achieved significant progress across various areas and highlighted promising investment opportunities in Somalia.

    He called on Arab League member states to invest in vital sectors, notably livestock, agriculture, fisheries, energy, petroleum, and minerals.

    Ambassador Al Otaibi emphasised the importance of an Arab League initiative aimed at promoting Arabic language education in Somalia, highlighting that the country is a Muslim nation, a member of the League, and that Arabic is recognised as the second official language in its constitution.
