Sean Parker wuxuu dib u soo celinayaa Stability AI si uu uga dhigo mid loo isticmaalo muusikada
Sean Parker, xirfadlayaasha hore ee barnaamijka Napster, wuxuu dib ugu laabtay suuqa muusikada kadib markii uu laba sano ka hor ku biiray shirkadda Stability AI. Wuxuu sheegay inuu hadda u shaqaynayo si rasmi ah, isagoo diiradda saaraya in shirkadda loo isticmaalo qalabka AI-ka ee muusikada.
Dib-u-dhiska iyo Maalgashiga
Labo sano ka hor, Parker wuxuu ku biiray qorshaha $80 milyan ee loo sameeyay Stability AI, shirkad ayaa horey uga soo baxday dhibaatooyin iyo kharash badan oo ka dhashay. Waa shirkad ay hore u soo saartay sawirrada, laakiin waxaa la bedelay madaxweynaha Emad Mostaque, isagoo bedelay Prem Akkaraju. Parker wuxuu sheegay inuu hadda u shaqaynayo si rasmi ah, isagoo diiradda saaraya in shirkadda loo isticmaalo qalabka AI-ka ee muusikada.
Bishii Agoosto ee lasoo dhaafay, shirkaddu waxay heshay $76 milyan oo lacag ah, iyadoo ku jira shirkadaha Sony, Warner, iyo Universal. Shirkadahan ayaa ogolaatay in loo isticmaalo warbixinta muusikadooda si loo baro AI-ka. Tani waxay muujinaysaa in shirkaddu ay ku guuleysatay inay hesho taageero weyn oo shirkadaha waaweyn ee muusikada ka yimid.
Natiijooyinka iyo Mustaqbalka
Kadib heshiiska maalgashiga, Stability AI waxay soo saartay saddex nooc oo cusub oo muusikada ah iyo barnaamijyo cusub oo lagu beddelo muusikada. AI-kan waxaa loo isticmaali karaa inuu sameeyo heeso buuxa ama qaybo yar oo muusikada ah iyadoo la isticmaalayo hadal. Parker wuxuu sheegay in mustaqbalka la heli doono tillaabo cusub oo dadka u ogolaanaysa inay heeso ka dhigaan ama ay dhaqaaqaan dhaqdhaqaaqyada muusikada si ay u beddelaan heesaha.

Sean Parker, the co-founder of Napster, has returned to the music industry with a renewed focus on legal compliance. Two years ago, he joined an $80 million rescue effort for Stability AI, the image-generator startup that nearly collapsed following founder Emad Mostaque's ouster. Now, Parker and CEO Prem Akkaraju are pivoting the company to become a premier AI toolmaker for music professionals, leveraging partnerships with major record labels.
A Strategic Pivot to Music
Parker tells The Information that he is playing by the rules this time, acknowledging that his previous approach of asking for forgiveness rather than permission did not work out well. The big idea, Parker says, is to turn Stability into the go-to AI toolmaker for music professionals. This strategic shift follows the company's near-collapse due to overspending and internal turmoil, which led to the departure of its original founder.
To support this vision, Parker and his longtime friend Prem Akkaraju, who became CEO, are unveiling new capabilities built on a foundation of industry trust. The company has moved away from unlicensed data scraping toward a model that secures rights from major players to ensure sustainable growth in the creative economy.
Major Label Partnerships and New Features
In late August, the company announced $76 million in funding from, among others, Sony, Warner, and Universal. Sony, Warner, and Universal licensed their catalogs for training as part of the deal, providing Stability with high-quality data to refine its generative capabilities. This financial backing and data access are critical for developing tools that meet the rigorous standards of professional musicians and producers.
Stability has since released three new audio models and AI music-editing software that allow users to generate whole instrumental tracks or short snippets from text prompts. Parker says an upcoming update will let users hum a melody or beatbox a drum pattern to steer it, further democratizing access to high-end audio production tools.
