OpenAI waxay xallisay mowduuc dhaqameed oo 19-aadkii qarnigii ka dhashay, laakiin warbixinta ayaa ku jirta baaritaanka
Shirkadda OpenAI waxay sheegtay inay isticmaashay kuwo badan oo AI ah si ay u xalliso mowduuc dhaqameed oo 19-aadkii qarnigii ka dhashay, laakiin warbixinta 166-da bog ee ay soo saartay waxaa ku jira khilaafyo ku saabsan xaqiiqda iyo xayeysiiska.
Mowduuca dhaqameed ee Navier-Stokes
Mowduuca dhaqameed ee Navier-Stokes waa mid ka mid ah mowduucyada dhaqameed ee ugu weyn ee 19-aadkii qarnigii ka dhashay, kaas oo loo isticmaalo in la fahmo sida uu u socdo hawada iyo biyaha. Waxaa loo sameeyay 19-aadkii qarnigii si loo fahmo sida hawada u socoto.

Khilaafka warbixinta iyo baaritaanka
Warbixinta 166-da bog ee OpenAI waxaa ku jira khilaafyo ku saabsan xaqiiqda iyo xayeysiiska, iyadoo qaar ka mid ah dhaqameedka ay sheegeen inay u isticmaaleen shaqooyinka kale ee dhaqameedka.

OpenAI announced it solved the Navier-Stokes existence and smoothness problem using thousands of AI agents, but the mathematical community has raised serious concerns about the proof's validity and the process behind it.
A Decades-Old Puzzle Finally Cracked?
The Navier-Stokes equations, developed in the 19th century to describe viscous fluid flow, have long fascinated mathematicians for their theoretical depth rather than practical engineering applications. OpenAI's 166-page proof, generated by thousands of AI agents, claims to resolve this decades-old challenge, though experts have not yet confirmed its validity.
The proof found that the equations do imply a sci-fi fluid explosion under unrealistic conditions, which mathematicians had long expected but never formally demonstrated. This result, however, does not help design better airplane wings or solve real-world engineering problems.
Critics Question the Process and Transparency
Mathematicians argue that the proof's lack of transparency undermines its value, as human researchers typically spend years developing ideas through a teacher-apprentice structure that prioritizes understanding over speed. Tristan Buckmaster of New York University suggested OpenAI may have used his and others' work without proper attribution.
Juspreet Singh Sandhu of Colorado State University signed a declaration titled 'A Severe Misalignment of AI in Mathematics,' warning that mass-producing proofs could destroy fertile ground for new ideas. The declaration's initial signatories included 25 Fields Medal winners.
OpenAI Responds and Forms Advisory Group
In response to the criticism, OpenAI formed an advisory group of mathematicians to guide its use of AI, stating that the declaration highlights the need for thoughtful engagement with the math community. The company also spent millions on computational power to generate the proof.
Lorenzo Gavassino of the University of Cambridge warned that outsourcing calculations to AI may cause mathematicians to miss valuable insights, as struggles with difficult problems often inspire the invention of new concepts.
