What Gemini adds to Connected Life
With the update, Gemini for Home can give detailed descriptions of events captured by security cameras, such as who delivered a package and how many items they dropped off. Users can also search recorded footage using natural-language questions, including "What dug up the yard last night?" and "Who let the dogs out?", and review daily summaries of activity in and outside the home.
Pricing and automatic arming
The Gemini-powered features are available only with AT&T's professional Connected Life monitoring plan, priced at $29.99 per month. AT&T is also adding the ability to automatically arm or disarm a home based on the user's proximity to it.
Built on Google's Home APIs
AT&T launched Connected Life last December in partnership with Google and Abode. The company is now using Google's Gemini-powered Home APIs, which let smart home brands and developers build AI-powered features into their devices. ADT has also hinted at bringing Gemini for Home features into its security systems.
