Upgraded Health Sensors and Battery Life
Both models feature a redesigned health-sensing system with a 32-petal electrode design, compared to the older two-petal design, for improved skin contact during ECG readings. The optical sensors are positioned closer together to minimize light leakage, and more power-efficient green LEDs enable accurate heart-rate measurements throughout the day, even during motion.
The Apple Watch Series 12 offers up to 24 hours of everyday battery life, while the Ultra 4 provides up to 50 hours. The Series 12 supports faster charging, delivering up to 12 hours of charge in just 15 minutes, and both models now take background heart rate readings every five seconds.

The Apple Watch Series 12 starts at $399 for the aluminum case, with a titanium version at $699 and a ceramic option at $899. The Apple Watch Ultra 4 begins at $799 and is available in natural and black titanium, along with a premium Hermès version.
