Miami scored 77 points, tying the program record and ranking fourth in ACC history, while accumulating 856 yards, the second-most in any ACC game. The Hurricanes also recorded 42 first downs, an ACC record and the most by any FBS team since 2019, showcasing an unprecedented offensive explosion.
The team's efficiency was remarkable, with nine players scoring scrimmage touchdowns, tied for the most by any ACC team in 30 years. Miami became the second team since 2000 to not face a third down in a half, scoring on 11 of their first 12 possessions and leading 49-0 at halftime.
Quarterback Duo Shines
Darian Mensah completed 14 of 15 passes for 252 yards and three first-half touchdowns, while Luke Nickel replaced him in the second half with three touchdown passes of his own. The pair became the first power conference teammates to achieve three touchdown passes in the same game since Patrick Mahomes and Nic Shimonek in 2016.
Mensah, who transferred from Duke after the 2025 season, is now 41-of-45 for 653 yards and eight touchdowns in his first two games as a Hurricane. His performance was met with gratitude, as he credited the supportive Canes fans for their encouragement during his transition.
