    Somalia’s foreign minister chairs virtual meeting with ambassadors to align diplomatic strategy

    Mogadishu (HOL) — Somalia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Abdisalam Abdi Ali, chaired a virtual meeting Thursday with Somali ambassadors, permanent representatives, and consuls general to enhance diplomatic coordination and strengthen international engagement.

    During the meeting, the minister directed heads of missions to prepare annual work plans aligned with Somalia’s foreign policy objectives and the National Transformation Plan (NTP).

    He also stressed the importance of closer collaboration with ministry departments and called for the regular submission of monthly and quarterly progress reports.

    The session focused on boosting Somalia’s representation abroad, improving services to Somali citizens in host countries, and promoting strategic partnerships to support Somalia’s development goals.

    The minister emphasized that effective diplomatic engagement is vital to advancing Somalia’s interests globally and underscored the role of embassies and missions in supporting national priorities, including political stability, economic growth, and regional integration.
