    Somalia and Ukraine explore stronger diplomatic ties

    Mogadishu (HOL) — Somalia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and
    International Cooperation, Ambassador Ahmed Moallim Fiqi, held a phone call
    with his Ukrainian counterpart, Andrii Sybiha, on Wednesday to discuss
    strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing cooperation between the two nations. 


    Minister Fiqi expressed his hopes for peace and stability
    for the Ukrainian people during the conversation, which focused on advancing
    shared interests and fostering stronger diplomatic ties. 



    The talks coincided with the arrival of Somalia’s newly
    appointed Ambassador to Russia, Mohamed A. Zubeyr, in Moscow. Ambassador Zubeyr
    was formally received by Mr. Kashtanov Vasilii Ur’evich, 2nd Secretary of the
    Department of State Protocol at the Russian Foreign Ministry, along with other
    senior diplomats. 

    The warm reception underscored the enduring friendship and
    mutual respect between Somalia and Russia, highlighting Somalia’s continued
    efforts to strengthen its international partnerships.
