Mogadishu (HOL) – Somali National Army forces, in
collaboration with local militia groups, killed 12 Al-Shabaab militants,
including senior leaders, during a planned military operation in the Aden
Yabaal district of the Middle Shabelle region, according to a statement issued
Friday by the Ministry of Information.

The operation specifically targeted a strategic house in
Aden Yabaal, which was being used by Al-Shabaab as a logistical hub to collect
military supplies and coordinate militant activity.

“During the operation, combat vehicles, large caches of
weapons, and other critical equipment used by the enemy were destroyed. The
operation was carried out as planned,” the ministry’s statement said.

The Federal Government reaffirmed its commitment to eradicating
the Al-Shabaab threat, in close cooperation with the Somali public and
international partners.

This latest offensive is part of ongoing efforts by the
Somali government to dismantle the group’s operational capabilities and reclaim
key areas under militant control.
