Puntland forces have increased security in the Mudug region of Somalia following heightened tensions over recent attacks.
The regional administration of Puntland, alongside the local security forces, have stepped up security measures in the region following a series of attacks attributed to Al-Shabaab in the Galkacyo district.
The regional authorities have accused the Federal Government of Somalia of undermining security measures in the region, while the Federal Government has accused Puntland of escalating tensions.
