Iranian Navy Diverts Ships from Strait of Hormuz
Iran’s Revolutionary Guard has diverted six ships from the Strait of Hormuz, maritime intelligence firm Windward reported on Friday.
The ships changed course from the Omani corridor in the Strait of Hormuz while Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) patrolled the area.
Since Saturday, two of the ships diverted from the route that runs closer to Oman than Iran have sailed towards Iran, while the four others have returned to the Gulf.
The IRGC navy has been issuing radio warnings to ships using routes other than what Iran describes as its ‘safe route’, Windward added.
