FIFA has confirmed that US forward Folarin Balogun will miss the Round of 16 clash against Belgium after receiving a red card in the win against Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Balogun could face an extended suspension if FIFA’s disciplinary panel deems his challenge on Bosnia’s Tarik Muharemovic worthy of more than the automatic one-match ban.
The US Soccer spokesperson confirmed an appeal for any suspension exceeding one game.
