Southampton boss Tonda Eckert has revealed he received police protection amid threats during the Spygate scandal.

Saints were banished from the Championship play-off final in May when they admitted to spying on three clubs during the season after they were caught observing a Middlesbrough training session ahead of the first leg of their play-off semi-final.

The EFL charged Saints after it was later found they had also observed sessions involving Oxford and Ipswich.
