Apple Music is getting a price hike

Apple Music Pricier for Subscribers

Apple Music lovers in the US will have to dig deeper into their pockets, as the music streaming service has just announced a price hike.

Individual plans now cost $11.99 per month, a $1 increase from the previous $10.99 price. Family plans are up to $19.99 per month, while student plans are now $6.99 per month.

Apple cited rising licensing costs as the reason for the price adjustment.

The price increase also applies to some Apple One plans, which bundle music with other services such as TV streaming and cloud storage.

Pricing changes are not limited to the US, as similar hikes have been reported in the UK and Europe, with other countries likely to follow suit.

This latest price adjustment comes shortly after Apple Music last increased its fees in October 2022, alongside hikes to Apple TV Plus and Apple One.

Other streaming services like Spotify have also recently increased their prices in the US.
