Libya and Somalia vowed to strengthen economic and security ties on Tuesday during a visit by Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud to Libya’s capital, Tripoli. Mohamed al-Menfi, chairman of the Libyan Presidential Council, said his country reaffirmed its “support for Somalia until it regains stability,” while welcoming Somali support for stability in Libya. Somalia’s president said the two countries explored ways to strengthen cooperation in “security, trade and infrastructure development.”
