Coca-Cola Subsidiary Fairlife Hit by Ransomware Attack, Shutting Down Operations

U.S. beverage maker Coca-Cola revealed that one of its dairy subsidiaries, Fairlife, was targeted by ransomware attackers and forced to temporarily suspend its production operations across the United States.

The multinational corporation disclosed the attack in a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Fairlife, known for its dairy products, estimated to generate $4 billion in sales by 2024, is one of Coca-Cola’s major brands.

Ransomware attacks on food and beverage companies have caused widespread disruptions in recent years. Similar incidents at Arizona Beverages and UNFI last year resulted in lengthy production delays and empty grocery shelves.

Coca-Cola has not specified when Fairlife’s systems will be restored.
