Somalia: Al-Shabaab Attacks Kill 11 in Kenya
Somalia’s Al-Shabaab militant group carried out attacks in Kenya, killing at least 11 people and injuring many others. The attacks targeted security forces in the Mandera region bordering Somalia.
The attack comes as tensions remain high between Kenya and Somalia, with both countries blaming each other for supporting armed groups operating in the region.
Al-Shabaab claimed responsibility for the attack, which resulted in the deaths of 11 Kenyan security officers and left several others wounded.
Kenya’s security forces responded with an operation that killed 409 suspected Al-Shabaab members and arrested 30 suspects.
The attack is the latest in a series of clashes between Kenyan security forces and Al-Shabaab, which has intensified in recent months.
The Kenyan government has stepped up security measures and increased patrols along the border with Somalia in an attempt to counter the attacks.
