Tesla Posts Strong Q2 Sales Despite Safety Concerns

The company produced 451,758 vehicles in the second quarter, including 442,936 Model 3 and Model Y vehicles. Deliveries also climbed to 480,126 vehicles, with 467,762 Model 3 and Model Y vehicles delivered.

Wall Street investors had expected Tesla to deliver between 400,000 and 420,000 vehicles in the quarter. The strong results come despite ongoing scrutiny over the safety of Tesla’s partially automated driving technology following recent fatal crashes.
