Mogadishu (HOL) –  Somali Ministry of Information has confirmed
the death of Abbas Mohamed Hool, a senior Al-Shabaab operative accused of
orchestrating deadly attacks in Mogadishu and the Shabelle regions.

In an official press release issued on Monday, the Ministry
stated that Hool succumbed to injuries sustained during a planned operation
carried out by Somali government forces. His condition reportedly deteriorated
due to complications arising from those injuries and subsequent illness.

“Abbas Mohamed Hool, who served as the chief architect
of Al-Shabaab’s operations in the Banadir and Shabelle regions, died from
injuries inflicted during a targeted operation conducted by the Somali Armed
Forces. The injuries later led to illnesses that ultimately caused his
    death,” the statement read.

Hool, who joined Al-Shabaab in 2007, gradually rose through
the ranks to become one of the group’s senior leaders. He was allegedly
responsible for coordinating numerous attacks targeting civilians, government
institutions, and public infrastructure in the capital and surrounding areas.

The Ministry of Information emphasized that Hool’s death is
a significant blow to Al-Shabaab’s command structure and reaffirmed the
government’s determination to pursue militant leaders.
