This post is brought to you in paid partnership with TCL CSOT
What’s happened? TCL CSOT (a subsidiary of TCL Technology) has announced a series of ground-breaking OLED display technologies which it says “set new industry standards.” These technologies could have major benefits for our future smartphones, tablets, laptops and more.
Among the announcements is the world’s first Real Stripe RGB OLED MB display, a 5.65-inch screen with a breakthrough 390ppi – an impressive feat for an RGB OLED display with a visually equivalent diamond-like pixel arrangement reaching 490ppi.
We also saw the launch of the world’s first Foldable & Portable display. This 28-inch screen is just 4.48mm thin when unfolded, and has a tri-fold design allowing it to be reduced to a compact 16 inches for easy transportation.
TCL CSOT also showed off the world’s first high-refresh-rate IJP OLED laptop display, a 16-inch screen which boasts a 2.5K ultra-high resolution, 100% DCI-P3 cinema-grade wide color gamut, and an adaptive variable refresh rate (48 – 240Hz).
This is important because: Screens are an ever-present in our daily lives, and as technology advances and consumer demands increase, these displays need to adapt to ever evolving requirements and device form factors.
TCL CSOT is leading the charge, and as Jun Zhao, Senior Vice President of TCL Technology and CEO of TCL CSOT explains the company “is pioneering a comprehensive and sustainable display ecosystem that exemplifies technological leadership and redefines immersive visual experiences.”
“We are committed to delivering ‘great screens’ to the world – screens that fuse AI with display innovation to become intelligent bridges between the digital and physical worlds”, Zhao added.
Why should I care? The screens in our devices are set to become even better, delivering us enhanced, and brand-new experiences.
The smartphone-sized RGB OLED display ensures flawless rendering of fine text and delivers a more refined visual experience, which means your next phone might deliver a level of clarity you’ve never seen before.
TCL CSOT’s foldable 28-inch monitor could transform how we work on the go, by making large screens more portable. This would allow you to set up an office pretty much anywhere. It even comes with an integrated rear stand.
Gaming laptops are in line for visual overhaul too, with TCL CSOT’s new IJP OLED delivering a lightweight, portable screen which still offers the premium features you want from a performance mobile PC.
Okay, what’s next? With TCL CSOT having announced its new display tech, we should expect to start seeing them arrive in devices in the near future.
