Maamulayaasha r/opensource oo mamnuucay AI iyo dadka aan Ingiriisiga ku hadlin
Go'aanka ayaa kicisay dood kulul, waxaana la sameeyay subreddit cusub oo la tartamaya
Maamulayaasha r/opensource waxay fiidnimadii Sabtida soo dhejiyeen xeerar cusub oo mamnuucaya mashaariicda isticmaala AI, waxaana go'aanku kicisay dood kulul oo ka dhacday faallooyinka, sida ay qortay The Verge.
Xeerka AI iyo sababta maamulayaashu sheegeen
Qoraalka maamulayaashu waxa uu ku qoran yahay in mashruuc kasta oo isticmaala AI, lagu sameeyay AI ama loogu talagalay AI aan lagu soo dhoweyn r/opensource, maadaama AI-da maanta jirta aysan la jaanqaadi karin bulshadan Open Source. Maamulaha Wolvereness ayaa faallooyinka ku caddeeyay in xeerku leeyahay nuqul iyo in si xul ah loo fulin karo, isagoo tusaale u soo qaatay software-ka si kadis ah u leh astaamaha gelitaanka ee isticmaala AI, sida qoraalka otomaatigga ah.
Mucaarad iyo walaac ku saabsan ballaadhnaanta xeerka
Xubnaha bulshada waxay ku cabanayaan in xeerarka cusub ay aad u ballaaran yihiin, marin-habaabisan yihiin ama aan caddayn. Qaar badan ayaa tilmaamay in kernel-ka Linux uu hadda ka kooban yahay xoogaa koodh ah oo AI soo saartay, taasoo macnaheedu yahay in mashaariicda isticmaala kernel-ka laga yaabo in lagu mamnuuco xeerarka cusub. Doodda ayaa sidoo kale horseeday abuurista subreddit cusub oo la tartamaya, r/trueopensource.
Shuruudaha kale iyo xayiraadda dadka aan Ingiriisiga ku hadlin
Maamulayaashu waxay kaloo dejiyeen shuruudo kale: mashruuca la soo gudbinayo waa in uu jiraa ugu yaraan hal sano, si firfircoon loo ilaaliyo, oo uu leeyahay dhowr ka qaybgalayaal. Waxay sheegeen in aysan sii qaban karin codsiyada dalbanaya ilaaliyayaal ama dad wax ku biiriya. Intaa waxaa dheer, waxay si dhab ah u mamnuuceen xubnaha aan Ingiriisiga ku hadlin, iyagoo qoray in qofka aan Ingiriisiga ku hadlin uu raadsado bulsho kale, maadaama aysan kala garan karin qoraalka AI iyo tarjumaadda AI.
Moderator Wolvereness says there is room for selective enforcement, including for accessibility features that use AI
The moderators of r/opensource posted new submission rules on Saturday evening that ban projects using AI, and the changes have drawn complaints from community members and led to the creation of a rival subreddit, r/trueopensource.
What the new rules say
The moderators' post states: "If your project uses AI, is made by AI, or is intended for AI, it’s not welcome on r/opensource. AI, as it exists today, is incongruent to this Open Source community." The post also effectively bars non-English-speaking members, stating: "If you don’t speak English, you need to find a different community." The moderators explained: "We cannot distinguish between AI-written and AI-translated. Since you don’t speak English, you can’t even verify yourself if it translated correctly."
Other restrictions on submissions
Beyond the AI ban, submitted projects must be at least one year old, actively maintained, and have multiple contributors. The moderators say they can no longer field requests asking for maintainers or people to contribute. Community members have complained that the new rules are too broad, misguided, or vague, and many have pointed out that the Linux kernel now contains some AI-generated code, so projects using it could be banned under the new rules.
Moderator cites room for nuance
Moderator Wolvereness explained in the comments that there is nuance and room for selective enforcement, such as "software that incidentally has accessibility features that use AI," including automatic captioning. The new rules have sparked a revolt in the comments and led to the creation of a rival subreddit, r/trueopensource.
