Waxaa maanta lagu soo bandhigay barnaamijka cusub ee Airbnb, kaas oo ku salaysan AI, iyadoo hoggaamiyaha shirkaddu uu sheegay in chatbot-ka kaliya uusan ku habboonayn ganacsiga ama safar-qaadashada, balse loo baahan yahay nidaam cusub oo AI-ga loogu talagalay.
Chatbot-ka Maaha Xal Ugu Fiican Ganacsiga
Brian Chesky, hoggaamiyaha Airbnb, wuxuu sheegay in chatbot-ku uusan ku habboonayn ganacsiga, sababtoo ah dadku waxay ku faraxsanaadaan inay arkaan waxyaabaha safarka ka hor inta uusan tagin. Wuxuu intaas ku daray in qofka kaliya uusan ku habboonayn barnaamijka, balse loo baahan yahay mid ay ku shaqeeyaan qoysaska iyo aqoonyahanka isku xiran.
Chesky wuxuu sheegay in Airbnb-ku uu diyaarinayo nidaam cusub oo u dhaxaysa chatbot-ka iyo barnaamijka hadda jira, kaas oo u ogolaan doona in dadku ay si wadajir ah u sameeyaan qorsheyaasha safarka. Tani waxay noqon doontaa mid aad u muhiim ah, gaar ahaan marka la eego in dadku ay ku faraxsanaadaan qorsheynta safarka inta badan inta ay safarka ku jiraan.
AI Agents iyo Nidaamka Cusub
Chesky wuxuu sheegay in AI agents-ka loo baahan yahay nidaam software oo gaar ah, kaas oo u ogolaan doona inay isku xiraan barnaamijyada kala duwan. Wuxuu intaas ku daray in Apple iyo Google ay yihiin kuwa ugu muhiimsan ee nidaamka cusub ku dhisa, balse hadda ma jiro nidaam AI-ga loogu talagalay.
Wuxuu sidoo kale sheegay in chatbot-ku uu ka fiican yahay inuu noqdo midka ugu horreeya ee AI-ga, balse waa in la sameeyaa midka ugu fiican ee AI-ga loogu talagalay. Tani waxay noqon doontaa mid aad u muhiim ah, gaar ahaan marka la eego in dadku ay ku faraxsanaadaan inay arkaan waxyaabaha safarka ka hor inta uusan tagin.

Airbnb CEO Brian Chesky reaffirmed his skepticism toward chatbot-only interfaces for travel discovery, arguing that the company's new AI search is merely a stepping stone toward a more collaborative, multi-user experience that preserves the joy of browsing.
Why Chatbots Fall Short for Travel
Chesky stated that a chatbot isn't the right interface for e-commerce, noting that users must take multiple turns before reaching a result. He emphasized that travel studies show people derive more pleasure in planning and anticipating travel than they do traveling, so inspiration and browsing should not be sacrificed for speed.
He also identified a second problem: chatbots are built for one person and are not a collaborative interface. This matters for a product that people often use with family and friends, making the current model insufficient for Airbnb's needs.
The Path to Multiplayer AI and Agent Infrastructure
Over the next three to six months, Airbnb's task is to explore interfaces that enable 'multiplayer' AI, meaning AI that several people, such as a group planning a trip together, can use at once. Chesky envisions the Airbnb app eventually becoming an agent with dedicated agents for the explore tab, customer service, and other service areas.
He argued that for agents to function within the platform, Airbnb needs to build a robust software developer kit. He cited ChatGPT's failed attempt at an app store as evidence that without a full operating system and SDK, agent functionality cannot succeed.
The Industry's Missing AI Operating System
Chesky believes the industry lacks a true operating system built for AI, and in an ideal world, AI would be operable at the kernel level. He thinks there are two misconceptions in Silicon Valley: first, that the interface is going away and people will just talk and type; second, that software will be completely generative.
He also noted that as long as the iPhone remains dominant and Apple and Google control the major platforms, apps will likely remain a central fixture. Airbnb plans to roll out voice agents this fall, and Chesky believes people will eventually speak to computers more than they type.
