Hargeisa (HOL) – Somaliland police on Thursday arrested a suspect accused of killing a man in the Mohamed Mooge district of Hargeisa.
A statement posted on the Police Force’s Facebook page confirmed the arrest, stating that law enforcement efforts successfully led to the capture of the suspect in the city’s western control area.
“The Somaliland Police Force conducted an operation and arrested the suspect, Yahye Mohamed Abees, who killed the late Guuleed Mohamed Yusuf in the Mohamed Mooge neighborhood of Hargeisa this evening,” the statement read.
The incident marks the second murder in the Mohamed Mooge district in a short period. The district’s police chief was recently killed there, and following his burial, the perpetrator was swiftly executed by the court.
However, police did not disclose details regarding the motive behind the latest killing or the weapon used in the attack.
