Garowe (HOL) – The Puntland Counterterrorism Task Force announced on Saturday that an airstrike destroyed an ISIS explosives factory in the Shebaab Al-Miskaat mountains during an overnight operation on Friday.
The facility was reportedly used to manufacture explosives and vehicle parts for the terrorist group.
A brief statement from the Puntland command confirmed the successful strike, which took place in the Bari region, where Puntland forces have been conducting an anti-ISIS military campaign since December 2024.
“The ISIS terrorist factory, which was used to manufacture explosives and vehicle components, was burned down, and its members were eliminated,” the Puntland Anti-ISIS Command said in a statement.
The statement did not disclose the number of ISIS fighters killed in the airstrike but confirmed that the bombing had crippled a key ISIS logistical hub.
The attack com
es as Puntland forces continue intense counterterrorism operations against ISIS in the Bari region, where several foreign militant leaders have been reportedly killed in recent weeks.
