Madaxweyne Benjamin Netanyahu ayaa sheegay in Israel ay u gudbisay dowladda Ingiriiska xog ku saabsan qorshe ay Iran ku weerari lahayd garoonka milateriga ee RAF Fairford, isagoo ku eedeeyay in dowladda Ingiriisku ay si degdeg ah uga jawaabtay tallaabooyin ay qaadayso.
Xogta iyo baaritaanka
Israel ayaa sheegtay inay u gudbisay dowladda Ingiriiska xog ku saabsan qorshe ay Iran ku weerari lahayd garoonka milateriga ee RAF Fairford, isagoo ku eedeeyay in dowladda Ingiriisku ay si degdeg ah uga jawaabtay tallaabooyin ay qaadayso.
Wararka ayaa sheegaya in baaritaanka lagu sameeyay gaadiidka uu socday in muddo saddex maalmood ah, iyadoo la ogaaday in aan la helin wax qarsoon, balse la helay 'cunto yar oo petrol ah'.
Jawaabaha dowladaha
Dowladda Ingiriisku ayaa sheegtay inay jiraan 'xog aad u ballaaran' oo muujinaya in Iran ay ka qayb qaadan karto arrintan, halka fadhiga Ingiriiska ee London uu sheegay inuu 'diyaar u yahay inuu diido' in Iran ay ka qayb qaadan karto arrintan.
Madaxweynaha Mareykanka Donald Trump iyo wasiirkiisa arrimaha dibadda Marco Rubio ayaa sheegay in xogta la heli karo ay muujinayso in arrintan ay ka dhalatay dowlad kale.
Taariikhda iyo xaaladda
Garoonka RAF Fairford waa kan kaliya ee Ingiriisku leeyahay oo loo isticmaalo howlaha dagaalka ee Iran, iyadoo B-1 iyo B-52 ay ka soo baxaan garoonkaas si ay uga qayb qaataan dagaalka.
Dowladda Ingiriisku ma aysan ka qayb qaadan dagaalka Iran, balse horey u ogolaatay in Mareykanku isticmaalo garoomadeeda si looga hortago weerarrada Iran.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told Fox News that Israel provided intelligence to the United Kingdom about a suspected Iranian attack on RAF Fairford, just before the UK imposed sanctions on Israeli settlement products in the occupied West Bank.
Police Investigation and Arrests
UK police released five British men on bail on Sunday after arresting them on suspicion of explosives and terrorism offences. After three days of investigation, including the deployment of a bomb disposal team, officers found no explosives in the vehicles but recovered a quantity of petrol.
The incident was subsequently reported to have been foiled after one of the five suspects tipped off police before the group was apprehended. US President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio had previously indicated that intelligence bodies were aware of the suspects and that a foreign state could be involved.
Iran's Response and UK Stance
Iran's embassy in London said it categorically rejects and strongly condemns speculation it was involved in the incident. Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi posted on X that Burnham was barking up the wrong tree, while British Prime Minister Andy Burnham said there were strong indications that Iran was involved in suspicious activity near the airbase.
Burnham imposed sanctions on products from Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank on 8 September, following a spate of violence by Israeli settlers against Palestinians. Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband described the violence as ethnic cleansing, marking a shift in the UK's position since the Iran war began on 28 February.
Strategic Context of RAF Fairford
RAF Fairford, located 160 kilometres west of London, is the only base on Britain's mainland used for US operations during the Iran conflict. American B-1 and B-52 bombers have taken off from the airbase for operations, following then-Prime Minister Keir Starmer's agreement in March to allow the US to use bases for defensive operations against Iran's missiles.
Iran has stated that it considers any base used to attack its territory a legitimate target. Netanyahu told Fox News that Israel tipped off Britain about the plot shortly before the sanctions announcement, adding that Iran was sponsoring the attack on the airbase.
