Dagaalka Waqooyiga iyo Xiriirka Eritrea
Dagaalka waqooyiga Itoobiya ayaa bilaabmay toddobaadkii hore, kadib markii dowladda iyo xisbiga TPLF ay isku eedeeyeen inay ka hor istaagayaan heshiiska 2022-ka. Labada dhinac ayaa isku eedeeyay inay ka hor istaagaan heshiiskaas, iyadoo TPLF-ku sheegay inay ka jawaabaysay duqayn federaal ah, halka dowladdu ay sheegtay in ciidamada Tigray ay horey u weerareen.

Residents of Ethiopia's capital heard loud explosions overnight, some near the military headquarters in the west and another in the south, hours after the National Intelligence and Security Service imposed an indefinite ban on drone flights over the city.
No Official Confirmation on Blast Origins
There were no official reports confirming the cause of the explosions, the exact locations affected or whether there were any casualties or damage. The office of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, the defence ministry as well as the federal and Addis Ababa police have not responded to requests for comment.
A resident in the Gotera neighbourhood, near the base of the secret service, told BBC Amharic that the blast was very loud and strong enough to set off car alarms around 00:30 local time. Another resident in the western suburb of Torhayloch, close to the military headquarters, said he and his friends were playing games when they heard the explosion.
Opposition Fighters Claim Responsibility for Drone Strikes
A source linked to the opposition fighters told Reuters they were behind what they said were drone strikes. The blasts came hours after drone flights were banned over Addis Ababa and a week after fighting erupted in the north between the army and a newly launched alliance of armed groups including forces from the Tigray region.
Clashes broke out last week after months of tension between the government and the Tigray People's Liberation Front (TPLF). Both sides accuse each other of violating a 2022 peace deal that ended a brutal two-year civil war, which is estimated to have cost 600,000 lives.
Wider Conflict Spreads Across Tigray, Afar and Amhara
Within Tigray, the national army and a pro-government militia appear to be advancing towards the region's main city of Mekelle. In the southern Tigrayan town of Alamata, 52 civilians had died in three days of heavy fighting, according to a medic who spoke to the BBC.
The TPLF is also reported to be fighting in neighbouring Afar region, where a humanitarian source has estimated that tens of thousands have fled their homes. Fighting around Lalibela in the Amhara region has involved the national army and Fano fighters, now allied to the TPLF.
